The idea is simple. There's noise all around us: technology, work, stress, ambition, unfulfilled dreams. All this chaos wreaks havoc on our minds, leading to stress and disease. While escaping to an ashram for peace isn't practical for most of us, there is another way. How can we remain where we are and still learn to find stillness amidst the noise?

Spaces for Silence is a collaborative vision to create an oasis of stillness within the city's hustle. While holidays and rejuvenation retreats are wonderful, sometimes we need nearby sanctuaries where we can escape for a few hours, forget the world, and declutter our minds. These spaces offer periods of silence, sometimes accompanied by music or movement, allowing us to simply be.
We observe noble silence (mauna) to turn our attention inward. Inspired by Vipassana, 'Mauna' is about cutting off all forms of stimulation. There are no devices or phones, just optional breathing guidance. One is welcome to simply sit or lie down and just be—no books, no diaries, no visual distractions. In silence, we find strength and clarity to go on.
